What is a Reining Horse?

From the NRHA Handbook:

"To rein a horse is not only to guide him, but also to control his every movement. The best reined horse will be willingly guided or controlled with little or no apparent resistance and dictated to completely."

Whizdom's Dreamcatcher

This is Whizdom's Dreamcatcher. "Dreamer" is an '05 stallion owned by Priss Leslie and currently in training with me, Theresa Manzella. He is outstanding in his coloring, disposition and trainabilty. He was started late, in Sept '07, so this year was spent giving him a good, strong foundation. He began offering flying lead changes on request in his first 30 days of training, which is extremely early for even the most talented horses. Watch for him on the show circuit in 2009. We bred a test panel of 6 mares to him for 2009.so we can't wait to see what we get!

Congratulations to Joan Andrews and Richard Morrow on their purchase of TNT’s Silver Sparkler. Silver Sparkler

WE LOVE THIS HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE IS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GRACE IS SO BEAUTIFUL THAT RICHARD AND I JUST SPEND TIME WATCHING HER. SHE IS SO SMART, AND CALM, AND GENTLE, AND AFFECTIONATE. HER BEST FRIEND IS THOR...THEY WILL EVEN SHARE THEIR HAY PILES WITH EACH OTHER. SHE IS GOING BEAUTIFULLY AND WE ARE PLANNING TO SHOW HER NEXT WEEK. ALL HER PAPERWORK IS HERE.

I HAD TO TRUCK OUT TO A DRIVING LESSON SATURDAY, SO WE TOOK HER ALONG FOR THE RIDE.AGAIN SHE WAS A+++++LOADED RIGHT UP, QUIET, WHEN THOR HAD TO LEAVE HER SHE DID NOT BLINK AN EYE. I TOOK HER AROUND THAT FARM SO SHE COULD SEE ALL THE CARRIAGES, UMBRELLAS, OTHER MARES, AND EVEN A STALLION. IT WAS LIKE SHE HAD DONE IT EVERY DAY OF HER LIFE. THERESA, YOU HAVE GIVEN US THE BEST GIFT; I HAVE THOR AND RICHARD HAS GRACE. YOU DID AN UNBELIEVABLE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WILL E-MAIL YOU SOME PICTURES...SHE IS WORKING RIGHT NOW IN HER BEADED BLACK EARNET (THO I PREFER THE PURPLE).I DON'T THINK RICHARD WAS EVER THIS ATTENTIVE TO ME (JUST KIDDING) I HOPE YOU DON'T MISS HER TOO MUCH. HOW IS HER RECIPIENT MARE DOING? I JUST THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND SHE IS ALWAYS HERE IF YOU EVER WANT TO COME EAST TO SEE HER.

AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ENTRUSTING HER TO US.

WiseguyWiseguy

Wanted to let you know how ecstatic I am about my purchase of Wiseguy. He is the most awesome horse and I've learned tons from him! I keep telling my friends, he is way better trained than I am. But, I'll learn. He is a sweet boy and is so willing to try all that I ask of him. I took him up in the mountains this past weekend and we got off the trail a bit. Ok, off the trail a lot! I was riding with 5 other well seasoned mountain/trail horses and he was the youngster. We were stuck in some mighty thick brush, some rocks and a bit of a hill to boot. He came through it like a champ and not once did he spook or get very flustered. He just kept on going and made me so proud. Everyone on the ride couldn't believe he just turned 5. Just goes to show that you offer some of the best horses to folks like me and he is everything you said he was and more. That means a lot to me and when I'm in the market for another horse with this caliber, I'll call you first! Thanks again.

Update from Shannon dated July 20, 2007

I just love Wise Guy. He is the best horse I've ever owned. He worked 9 hour day with me on cows the 5th of July (2 shorter days after), starting at 4 am and into the 100 degree heat of noon and 1 pm. He went through bogs, a lake, scrub, sage, ran fast when I asked him and sneaked up when I told him to. He and I spent the better part of 5 hours that day all by ourselves (behind our 100 pairs) and was a champ. He even put up with my singing, which is no easy feat. I love him. If I never show (never say never) I still know I have a wonderful partner that trusts me and I totally trust him.
